How we find the cause.
We check the drain and its access first, because jetting is not right for every pipe. Where it suits, a hose and nozzle direct pressurised water along the pipe, cutting the build-up off the wall and flushing it back to a point where it can be removed. We also make sure there is somewhere for that material to go.
Jetting is a cleaning method, not a repair. It will not fix a cracked joint, a collapsed section or a pipe laid with the wrong fall, and on a fragile old drain it can make a bad section worse. That is why we look before we jet. If the pipe is in poor condition, we say so and talk about repair instead.
What to send us
Tell us about any known pipe damage or previous repairs, particularly on an older property. Clear access to inspection openings and tell us where the water is backing up. In most cases a camera before or after the clean is worth the extra time, and we will tell you which one is useful here.
What actually moves the price
The blockage itself, the access, the pipe condition, the length being cleaned and whether you want it inspected all affect the job. Ask any quote whether it includes finding the cause, clearing it and checking the result, or just the clearing. Those are three different prices.
