How we find the cause.
We find what is actually failing, which is usually a worn cartridge, a damaged seat or a perished seal rather than the tap itself. Where the part is available and the fixture is sound, a repair is the sensible call. Where the fixture is worn through or the parts are long discontinued, we will say so rather than charge you to keep patching it.
A replacement tap has to suit the installation you already have. Mounting arrangement, connection type, spout reach and clearance over the sink all matter as much as how it looks in the showroom. Confirm whether a quote includes the tapware itself or the labour only, because the two are often presented as though they are the same number.
What to send us
Send a photograph of the tap and, if you can safely look, the area underneath it. Include the brand or model if you can see it, describe what the fault is, and tell us whether you have already chosen a replacement.
What actually moves the price
Fixture type, whether parts are still made, the condition of the connections beneath and the access all affect the price. If you need a new tap, keep the product cost and the installation cost separate in your head when you compare quotes.
