Bundamba: what
actually goes wrong.
Bundamba is one of the older suburbs on the eastern side of Ipswich, home to the racecourse, the TAFE campus and a long coal-mining history. Bundamba Creek runs through the suburb and rose sharply in the 2011 and 2022 floods, affecting homes and infrastructure on the low ground.
Most of Bundamba was built before PVC drainage and copper or PEX water pipes became standard, so earthenware sewer lines, galvanised water pipes and original cisterns are still in the ground and still working. That age is what drives the enquiries here: blockages that keep coming back at the same joint, corrosion leaks inside walls, and fixtures whose parts stopped being made decades ago.
